UZB - CHANGES TO MIGRATION LEGISLATION
Certain changes in the local migration legilsation are being introduced in Uzbekistan, please see below for your reference:
1. Accreditation of representative office and its foreign personnel:
- To register (o accredit) a representative office in the Republic of Uzbekistan or to apply for an accreditation card (or to file for an extension of the same), applicants must submit applications along with the necessary documents to the Center of Public Services (CPS) or Government managed online Portal of Interactive Services;
- The government processing time for registration and extension of a representative office accreditation has been reduced to five (5) business days;
- The application for the extension of the representative office should be submitted not earlier than (1) month before the expiration date of the current accreditation certificate;
- The number of foreign employees in a representative office shall not exceed five (5) foreign individuals, and the total number of foreign employees shall not constitute more than forty percent (40%) of the total number of all employees in the representative office.
- The government processing time for application and extension of accreditation cards has been reduced to five (5) business days.
2. Visa application and extension process with the local Migration office (for all businesses and representations):
Applications for the issuance and extension of visas may only be signed by the director of the company or its deputy, supported by the official employment order and/or PoA indicating the authority to sign documents on behalf of the company.
3. Extension of work permit:
State Migration Authorities of Uzbekistan have excluded the wording “extension” from WP applications. So, by applying for any work permit (whether being new or extension), it shall be considered as new application process.
