Important changes have been made on visa regime between Azerbaijan and China.
Thus, the “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the People's Republic of China on Mutual Visa Exemption from for Citizens Holding Ordinary Passports” approved by the Law No. 208-VIIQ of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated May 30, 2025, entered into force on July 16, 2025.
According to the agreement, citizens of the People's Republic of China with valid ordinary passports may enter, exit, and transit through the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the People's Republic of China without a visa, for a single stay not exceeding 30 days and for a cumulative period of stay not exceeding 90 days in any 180-day period.
These rules do not apply to Chinese nationals traveling for business or work purposes but applies to tourists. Chinese nationals traveling for business or work purposes are required to obtain a business or work visa to enter Azerbaijan.
