AZE - OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY RULES

The Government also introduced some registration requirements on occupational safety rules and training in respect with certain categories of workers in so-called high risk category, those shall now be performed electronically. Such employees and other individuals employed in hazardous conditions must undergo occupational safety training every 3 months or once in a year, depending on specific working conditions and place of work. Records on such training must be shared with the government.

Greater importance is given to health and safety function even for smaller enterprises (having less than 50 employees).  As a minimum, additional function of an HSE coordinator shall be assigned to existing employee, being previously trained for such a duty. While administrative burden is clearly going to impact smaller businesses, this function is given a priority.  It is also worth noting that where assignment of such duties is not possible, the employer must hire occupational safety specialist (HSE). Important to note that a failure to comply with the above requirements is subject to serious fines.
