Some changes have been made to vacation compensation upon termination of an employment contract by the Decision of the Plenum of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 18 February 2026. Thus, as of February 18, 2026, regardless of the reason for dismissal, upon termination of the employment contract the employee should be compensated not only for the basic (main) annual leave as stipulated by the Labour Code of Azerbaijan but also for all unused additional leave accumulated throughout all working years including additional leave granted due to working conditions and the nature of the job function, seniority, as well as additional leave provided to women with children and to specialists working in the territories liberated from occupation. Previously, upon termination of an employment contract there was NO additional vacation compensation but only for the basic (main) annual leave.
