UZB - CHANGES TO MIGRATION RULES

Some changes have been introduced to the procedure of stay of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan and vice versa.

Thus, according to the bilateral Agreement between the Governments of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, Kazakh nationals travelling to Uzbekistan for a period less than 30 days shall be exempt from the obligation to register within 30 days from the date of arrival/entry. The period of stay is calculated from the date of arrival/entry confirmed by migration card with a stamp from the border control authorities or a stamp in the foreign passport on crossing of the Uzbek border. There is no necessity for police department registration for Kazakh nationals who intend to remain in Uzbekistan less than 30 calendar days.

On another hand, Kazakh nationals willing to stay in country for more than 30 calendar days shall complete police registration within 30 calendar days upon their arrival to Uzbekistan. Registration must be still valid on the day of departure from Uzbekistan. Otherwise, fine for an administrative offense in the amount of at least 5 base estimates (базовых расчётных величин) (Note: as of 01/02/2023, 1 estimated value = 300 thousand Uzbek soums (about 135 US dollars)) will be imposed.
